STill Here!
"But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father." Ephesians 2:13-18
My job has had some drastic changes in the past year, and even month. Instead of being on my feet most of the day, I'm about glued to the computer about eight hours every day. Some days, it has even been difficult to get up for bathroom breaks and to fill my water bottle with machine gun emails, as I call them, and non-stop phone calls. Nonetheless, I am very thankful to have my job, try a new challenge and get the opportunity to experience what others who have sedentary jobs go through. Now I can relate to many of my former clients and class participants who also have sedentary jobs. On another positive note, I have noticed a renewed motivation to work-out, get outside and MOVE after work. Working at a desk has hampered my non-work sedentary activities (like reading and writing this blog I felt compelled to write during my work-out today), but the motivation to work-out has been nice! I cannot attest to renewed strength, as I can feel the tightness sitting promotes that seems to hinder my range of motion for power lifts I try to maintain. However, tightness from instructing work-outs and standing all day also caused tightness and soreness that made those lifts difficult. All of this to say, there are pros and cons regardless, so we just have to do the best with what we've got! My work-outs so far this week are as follows...I will try to share more :) God Bless!
Saturday
3.1 mile Run
Sunday
Power Yoga: this one and this one
Monday
Mowing the Lawn: after having several lawn mowers break in my ownership (maybe I was doing something wrong...not sure, but it was a success to make one last a year!), it was not a difficult decision to get a cheap, non-self propelled push mower. Another big incentive for a non-self propelled push mower was that I'd get a decent work-out while mowing: 2 in 1! For motivation, I'll start 'Work-Out' on my Apple Watch when I start mowing, and I usually burn more calories mowing than I do during during most of my work-outs!
